Recipe Name: Never Fail Scratch Rolls

Ingredients:
1 Cup Warm Water
1 TBSP Sugar
1 Pkg Yeast
2 TBSP Sugar
3 TBSP Shortening
1 Egg
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt

Preparation:
Add 1 TBSP sugar and 1 pkg yeast to 1 cup warm water. Let stand while mixing 2 TBSP sugar, 3 TBSP shortening, and 1 egg. Beat well.
Sift salt with 3 cups flour.
Stir yeast liquid and add alternately with flour to mixture of egg/shortening/sugar beating well after each addition. Adjust amount of flour as needed to make moderately stiff dough.
kneed lightly; let rise in covered bowl in warm place until nearly doubled in size (about 1 hr). Kneed again, shape into rolls or loaf.
Let rise again until double in size.
Bake in oven at 400 degrees. Bake about 30 minutes or until light brown.
Light handling with quick mixing and baking make this delicious.
